We are Systematix, and we are currently looking for a hands-on IT Operations Analyst to support global IT infrastructure and end-user technology services for one of our key Life Sciences clients.
ABOUT THE PROJECT
Our client is a global leader in Life Sciences technologies, with operations and employees around the world. As part of its Client Technologies team, the organization is seeking an experienced IT Operations Analyst to support the reliability, security and day-to-day operation of its IT environment.
The successful candidate will provide second-line technical support and infrastructure administration across end-user computing, local servers, networks, applications and manufacturing systems. This role will work closely with users, technical teams and management to resolve issues, support technology deployments and identify opportunities to improve operational performance.
ABOUT THE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide second-line user and administrative support for IT systems, applications and infrastructure.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, network and peripheral-related issues.
- Provide technical guidance to users and management regarding IT issues, requests and best practices.
- Configure, install, deploy and support PCs and related peripherals.
- Configure, deploy and support desktop management tools and services.
- Implement and support network operating systems, infrastructure services and local server environments.
- Support local manufacturing systems and associated business applications.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting across relevant hardware, software and systems.
- Monitor and complete daily backup activities in accordance with established procedures.
- Develop and maintain desktop, server, backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Assist management with the development of desktop support and local server strategies.
- Maintain knowledge of departmental applications and the broader PC/LAN computing environment.
- Coordinate technology implementations, upgrades and rollouts.
- Assist with equipment forecasting, planning and purchasing.
- Perform system analysis and prepare utilization or operational reports as required.
- Record incidents, requests and support activities accurately within the Service Desk system.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, efficiency and operational effectiveness.
- Support IT risk assessments and contribute to remediation activities.
- Collaborate with global IT teams, vendors and business stakeholders to resolve technical and operational issues.
- Provide occasional out-of-hours and public holiday support when required.

ABOUT THE QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree, diploma or equivalent qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related discipline.
- Current and relevant professional IT certification.
- At least four years of experience providing second-line desktop and end-user support.
- At least four years of experience supporting PC applications, operating systems, hardware and peripherals.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience supporting desktop management tools, local servers and networked environments.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and use diagnostic tools to resolve hardware and software issues.
- Experience supporting technology within a manufacturing, laboratory, Life Sciences or similarly regulated environment is an asset.
- Understanding of backup, disaster recovery and IT risk-management practices.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making skills.
- Excellent follow-up, organizational and documentation skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
- Willingness and ability to provide occasional out-of-hours and public holiday coverage.

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a six-month contract to be performed onsite at our client’s location in South East England.
