IT Commercial Contracts Specialist (Financial Services)
Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: 3 Months
Role Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced IT Commercial Contracts Specialist to join a high-profile project team supporting a leading Financial Services client.
This role is focused on third-party commercial contract management, supplier negotiations, and standardising contract terms across IT and technology vendors. You will play a key role in working alongside corporate legal teams to integrate modern contractual clauses (including AI-related terms) and drive value across supplier extensions and renewals.
Key Responsibilities
- Contract Negotiation & Drafting: Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of third-party commercial agreements using both client and supplier templates.
- Supplier Transitioning: Assist with transitioning existing IT and service suppliers onto standard Financial Services contractual terms.
- Legal Collaboration: Act as a key liaison between project teams, business units, and legal counsel to ensure prompt resolution of legal and contractual matters.
- AI & Modern Clauses: Support legal teams in updating agreements and integrating AI-related contract clauses and risk frameworks.
- Commercial Negotiations: Support commercial discussions, contract extensions, amendments, and renewals with suppliers.
- Contract Administration: Ensure contract databases and repositories are fully updated, maintaining compliance, status tracking, and reporting.

Key Skills & Experience Required

- Contract Expertise: Proven track record in preparing, reviewing, redlining, and negotiating commercial contracts (specifically across IT, software, outsourcing, or professional services).
- Industry Focus: Previous experience operating within the Financial Services or IT Outsourcing sector is strongly preferred.
- Legal Alignment: Ability to clearly state, convey, and resolve complex legal and commercial contract issues.
- Stakeholder Management: Strong client-facing and cross-functional leadership skills with experience working alongside internal legal and procurement teams.
- Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Law, Paralegal certification, or equivalent commercial experience is beneficial.
