Role: Project Manager - Smart Buildings & ICT Infrastructure
Location: London, Zones 1-2
Salary: £65,000 - £70,000 + benefits
Job Type: Permanent / Full Time / On-Site
We are working with an established technology integrator delivering complex smart building and ICT infrastructure projects across some of London's most high-profile commercial environments.
Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced Project Manager to take responsibility for projects from pre-construction and design development through to installation, commissioning and final handover.
The role covers a range of technologies including structured cabling, fibre and copper infrastructure, wired and wireless networks, security systems, AV and IoT solutions.
What you'll be doing
- Managing projects from bid stage and pre-construction through to completion and handover
- Developing and managing project programmes, key milestones and delivery schedules
- Coordinating design development, procurement, materials and site resources
- Managing structured cabling, network and wider smart building technology installations
- Overseeing subcontractors, technical teams and installation resource on site
- Managing project budgets, cash flow, valuations and overall commercial performance
- Holding responsibility for project P&L and ensuring work is delivered within agreed margins
- Working closely with clients, main contractors, consultants and other project stakeholders
- Coordinating testing and commissioning, including fibre and copper testing requirements
- Managing project documentation, O&M information and as-built records
- Supporting pre-sales and bid teams with programme, resource and operational input
- Leading project handovers and ensuring a smooth transition into support and maintenance teams
- Maintaining high standards of health, safety and site compliance throughout delivery

What we're looking for

- Strong experience managing ICT, structured cabling, smart building or technology infrastructure projects
- Ideally 5+ years' experience within a similar Project Manager position
- Good understanding of copper and fibre structured cabling systems
- Experience managing patching, WAP installations and associated network infrastructure
- Strong understanding of the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to handover
- Experience managing subcontractors and technical installation teams
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, project costs, variations and P&L
- Good understanding of testing, commissioning, quality control and project documentation
- Experience across security systems, AV, IoT or wired and wireless networks would be advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications such as PRINCE2, APM, CTPM, SMSTS or ECS would also be beneficial, although strong relevant project experience will be the key consideration.
