IT Project Manager – Data Centre Transition

12-Month Contract, Outside IR35

MoJ Data Centre Transition

Location: Remote, with occasional visits to Leatherhead

As IT Project Manager, you'll own the detailed delivery plan for a major service transition on a Ministry of Justice programme, including the move of data centre services to incoming suppliers. Working closely with the Senior Transition Lead, you'll coordinate multiple suppliers through testing and cutover and keep the critical path on track to a fixed go-live date. This is a high-profile public sector programme where you'll have real ownership of the plan and a direct influence on its success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and manage the detailed plan across several interlinked projects, including critical path, dependencies, milestones and re-planning as priorities shift
  • Drive engagement with third-party suppliers, building strong working relationships with their Project Managers so plans stay aligned and shared milestones are met
  • Coordinate complex multi-party systems testing and cutover as data centre services move across
  • Support demobilisation and customer exit activity as services transition
  • Lead daily stand-ups, sprint ceremonies and checkpoints, and make sure Kanban boards are used well across the team (Scrum Master experience would be useful here)
  • Own the RAID log and the project change process, assessing the impact of change on the plan and resources
  • Produce internal progress reports and contribute to client-facing reporting
  • Help the Senior Transition Lead prepare and run Quality Gateway assessments and governance meetings
  • Make sure all project documentation is reviewed, controlled and kept up to date

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
