IT Security Advisor | Sheffield (Hybrid) | £35,000 - £50,000 + Excellent Benefits

Do you enjoy balancing hands on technical security work with shaping longer term strategy?

Elevation Tech & Transformation are hiring an IT Security Advisor to help protect and evolve the technology landscape across a diverse, growing organisation. You'll take ownership of day to day security operations while directly influencing the future of cyber security, infrastructure resilience and modern workplace technology.

You'll work across a broad range of technologies, partnering with internal IT teams and external security specialists to reduce risk and keep critical business systems secure, available and compliant.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same in this role. You'll combine hands on operational security with project delivery, shaping the organisation's security capability along the way:

  • Lead investigation and resolution of security incidents alongside internal teams and external partners
  • Drive vulnerability management, from identification through to remediation
  • Manage and improve security technologies including endpoint protection, Microsoft 365 security, email security, DLP and user awareness programmes
  • Strengthen identity and access management across Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID and Intune
  • Support secure operation of core infrastructure including servers, networking and cloud services
  • Play an active role in infrastructure and security projects, embedding security from the outset
  • Develop security standards, documentation and best practice, supporting governance and compliance
  • Provide technical guidance across IT and mentor the IT Security Analyst

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
