INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST

The City of New Smyrna Beach is seeking an Information Technology Specialist who will primarily provide administrative and executive support to the Information Technology Department and IT Director.

  • Hourly Rate: $24.7474
  • Working Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM
  • Work Address: City Hall | 210 Sams Ave, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168

About The Job

The Information Technology Specialist provides high-level executive and administrative support to the Information Technology Director in the coordination and management of departmental operations. Performs advanced administrative, financial, and operational duties, including preparation of technical reports and agenda materials, oversight of purchasing and budget documentation, maintenance of departmental records, and coordination with vendors, staff, and other City departments. Exercises discretion, independent judgment, and problem-solving skills to support efficient and effective IT service delivery.

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent; three (3) years of progressively responsible administrative or executive support experience; or any combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Valid Florida Driver’s License.
  • May require a notary certification or the ability to obtain such certification.
  • May require certification associated with the area of assignment, such as FCIC/NCIC Certification.
  • Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) certification preferred.
