IT Support Engineer
Location: Central London – Office based, 5 days per week
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Guide salary: £40k

The role:
We are looking for an experienced IT Support Engineer to join our internal IT team in Central London.
This is a varied, hands-on role covering day-to-day user support through to more complex technical issues across Microsoft 365, Windows, macOS, servers, networking, and endpoint management.
You'll work as part of a small IT team, supporting users directly while also getting involved with infrastructure, security, and IT project work.
This would be a good opportunity for an experienced 1st/2nd Line Engineer who is looking to develop further into 3rd line and infrastructure, or an existing 2nd/3rd Line Engineer looking for a broad internal IT role.
What you'll be doing:
IT Support
- Providing 1st, 2nd and some 3rd line IT support
- Supporting users with hardware, software and connectivity issues
- Troubleshooting Windows and macOS devices
- Resolving Microsoft 365, Outlook and Teams issues
- Setting up new users, laptops and other equipment
- Supporting starters, movers and leavers
- Troubleshooting more complex technical issues
- Escalating issues where appropriate
- Carrying out root cause analysis for recurring problems

Microsoft & Infrastructure
You'll help administer and support:
- Windows Server environments
- Active Directory and Group Policy
- DNS and DHCP
- Hyper-V virtual infrastructure
- File and print services
- Microsoft 365
- Exchange Online
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Hybrid Microsoft environments
Endpoint Management
You'll work with Microsoft Intune to support:
- Windows and macOS devices
- Device provisioning and configuration
- Software deployment
- Windows updates and patching
- Endpoint compliance
- Troubleshooting non-compliant devices
Security
You'll assist with the day-to-day security of our IT environment, including:
- ESET PROTECT endpoint security
- MFA
- Microsoft Entra ID and Conditional Access
- Certificate deployment
- Security alerts and monitoring
- Vulnerability remediation
- Security updates and patching
- Supporting wider IT security and compliance activities
Previous ESET experience isn't essential – experience with another enterprise endpoint security product is equally useful.
Networking
You'll help support and troubleshoot:
- LAN, WAN and Wi-Fi
- Internet connectivity
- VPN access
- DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP
- Firewall-related issues and change requests
- General network connectivity issues
Our core network and firewall infrastructure is supported by a managed network provider, so you'll work with them when more complex changes or issues need to be escalated.

Projects
Alongside day-to-day support, you'll have the opportunity to assist with:
- IT infrastructure projects
- System upgrades
- Device refreshes
- Microsoft 365 and Intune projects
- User and system migrations
- Security improvements
- Maintaining technical documentation
What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with previous experience in an IT Support or IT Engineer role who has good troubleshooting skills and enjoys working directly with users.
Ideally, you'll have experience with several of the following:
- Windows Server and Active Directory
- Microsoft 365, Exchange Online and Teams
- Microsoft Entra ID
- Microsoft Intune
- Windows 10/11
- macOS
- Hyper-V
- DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP networking
- VPN and firewall troubleshooting
- Endpoint security
- Backup systems
- PowerShell
You don't need to be an expert in everything listed above. We're looking for someone with a solid IT support background, good Microsoft knowledge, and the willingness to learn and develop further.
You'll need to be comfortable communicating with users at all levels, taking ownership of problems and working through issues methodically.
This is a hands-on, office-based position in Central London, five days per week.
