TGS International Group is supporting a leading technology and infrastructure services organisation in the appointment of an experienced Managed Services Cover Engineer.
This is a varied, hands-on role providing planned holiday and sickness cover across multiple prestigious client environments. The successful candidate will support Data Centre Operations, MAC activities, Customer Logistics and Desktop Support, ensuring high service standards are maintained across business-critical environments.
Due to the nature of the role, flexibility is essential. Working hours may vary between 07:00 and 22:00, Monday to Friday, depending on operational requirements.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering Data Centre support including installations, decommissions, moves and hardware refreshes.
- Rack, stack and patch servers, network equipment and associated infrastructure.
- Carrying out structured cabling installations, fault finding and cable tracing.
- Supporting MAC activities including device deployments, patching and desk moves.
- Providing desktop and end-user technology support.
- Supporting peripheral and workplace technology installations.
- Maintaining accurate asset, inventory and service records.
- Managing and updating tickets within service management systems.
- Carrying out technology room inspections, audits and housekeeping.
- Ensuring work is completed in line with SLAs, Health & Safety and Quality standards.
- Escalating incidents, risks and service issues where required.
- Supporting wider infrastructure and project activities when necessary.

What We’re Looking For

- Experience working within Data Centres, IT Infrastructure or Managed Services.
- Strong structured cabling installation, testing and fault-finding experience.
- Knowledge of copper and fibre cabling.
- Experience supporting enterprise IT hardware and infrastructure.
- Understanding of asset management and ticketing systems.
- Good Microsoft Office skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently across multiple client environments.
- A professional and customer-focused approach.
- Flexibility to travel between client sites and work varying hours when required.
