Company Description

Blessed Christopher Wharton Catholic Academy Trust is a multi-academy trust founded in July 2014, now comprising 17 primary schools and 2 secondary schools across Bradford and Keighley. The Trust works collaboratively as a family of schools to provide a first-class Catholic education that supports the spiritual, academic, social, and emotional development of every pupil. Staff, families, and local parishes partner closely to ensure the Catholic identity and values of the Trust are lived out in daily school life. The Trust is committed to high-quality teaching, rich and happy school experiences, and helping all children and young people reach their full potential. Role Description

The Information Technology Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Bradford, supporting the IT needs of schools within the Trust. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Providing first-line technical support to staff and pupils
  • Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues
  • Maintaining computers, peripherals, and classroom technology
  • Installing and configuring devices and applications
  • Monitoring network and system performance
  • Escalating complex issues to senior IT staff or external providers when required
  • Assisting in user training on core systems and digital tools
  • Contributing to IT documentation
  • Ensuring IT services are reliable, secure, and aligned with safeguarding and data protection requirements
  • Collaborating with school leaders, teaching staff, and external suppliers to support effective teaching and learning through technology

Qualifications

  • Strong Information Technology knowledge, including basic networking, operating systems, and common educational software.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and connectivity issues in a school or similar environment.
  • Experience providing technical support for end users, including incident logging and resolution within agreed timeframes.
  • Effective customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and respectfully with staff, pupils, and external partners.
  • Ability to deliver or support training for users on core IT systems, devices, and digital learning tools.
  • Relevant IT certification or qualification (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft, or equivalent experience) is desirable.
  • Experience in an education setting or multi-site environment is beneficial.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, data protection, and the ethos and values of a Catholic academy trust.
