Role Summary
Independently drive automotive infotainment validation across rig, bench, HIL, and vehicle environments for premium OEM programs. Own assigned features from requirement analysis through test design, execution, defect investigation, fix verification, and release evidence. Quickly ramp up on complex platforms, support issue triage and release readiness, and collaborate effectively with Systems, Software, HMI, Audio, Diagnostics, and Integration teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own validation of assigned infotainment features, including HMI, Audio, Navigation, Connectivity, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Cameras, Diagnostics, and Vehicle Settings.
- Analyse system and feature requirements, identify ambiguities, and create traceable test cases covering positive, negative, boundary, and integration scenarios.
- Execute smoke, sanity, feature, integration, regression, stability, and release testing on rig, bench, HIL, and vehicle setups.
- Validate end-to-end customer journeys and production-intent software releases across applicable configurations and variants.
- Prepare test data, configure test environments, flash or code ECUs as required, and maintain accurate build and configuration records.
- Monitor and analyse CAN, CAN FD, LIN, and Ethernet communication; execute UDS and DoIP diagnostics; and verify ECU responses.
- Capture and correlate CANoe/CANalyzer traces, Wireshark captures, application logs, and diagnostic data to investigate failures.
- Raise high-quality defects with reproducible steps, expected and actual behaviour, build/configuration details, logs, frequency, and impact.
- Support issue triage, failure reproduction, root cause analysis, defect containment, fix verification, and focused regression until closure.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and update execution status, evidence, and defects in JIRA and Jama/DOORS or equivalent tools.
- Contribute to automation using CAPL, Python, or equivalent technologies, and improve reusable regression assets and reporting utilities.
- Provide clear progress, defect, and risk updates during technical, customer, and release-readiness reviews, including onsite customer-facing discussions in the UK.
- Support peer reviews, guide junior engineers on assigned topics, and escalate blockers or quality risks promptly.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
