Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for an experienced Infra Technical Project Delivery Manager to lead large-scale virtualisation, infrastructure transformation and migration programmes across a global technology environment. The role will oversee complex initiatives involving server virtualisation, data centre transformation, cloud adoption, operating system upgrades, platform remediation and application migrations, ensuring secure, compliant and successful delivery within agreed scope, budget and timelines.

What you will do:

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of infrastructure transformation projects from initiation through implementation and operational handover.
  • Manage virtualisation, migration, cloud adoption, infrastructure modernisation and remediation initiatives across enterprise environments.
  • Develop and maintain project plans, delivery roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, RAID logs and governance artefacts.
  • Ensure delivery against agreed scope, budget, timelines, quality standards and business outcomes.
  • Drive proactive management of risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
  • Coordinate resources across infrastructure, engineering, architecture, security, operations, service management and vendor teams.
  • Facilitate governance forums, steering committees and executive reporting, presenting status, risks, metrics and key decisions.
  • Lead infrastructure migration activities covering VMware and hypervisor migrations, server modernisation, data centre exits and consolidation, cloud transformation, operating system upgrades, and storage and network migrations.
  • Coordinate technical readiness assessments, migration planning, testing, deployment, business validation and migration wave execution across applications and business services.
  • Ensure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture, operational standards and cybersecurity requirements.
  • Build strong relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders and act as the primary delivery contact for internal teams and external suppliers.
  • Facilitate collaboration between architects, engineers, service managers, risk functions and business representatives.
  • Manage project financials, budgets, forecasts and resource plans in accordance with governance and control frameworks.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, data protection, resiliency and security requirements.
  • Manage change processes, implementation reviews, post-project lessons learned and transition into production support and operations.
  • Manage infrastructure vendors, system integrators and delivery partners, tracking performance against agreed deliverables and SLAs.
  • Escalate and resolve commercial, technical and delivery issues as required.

Qualifications

  • Bring significant experience delivering large-scale infrastructure and technical transformation projects, including virtualisation and migration programmes within enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrate strong technical understanding of VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Windows and Linux server environments, storage technologies and enterprise networking.
  • Possess experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS and/or GCP, along with infrastructure monitoring and operational tooling.
  • Demonstrate experience managing cross-functional technical teams across multiple regions and delivering complex initiatives within controlled or regulated environments.
  • Show strong stakeholder management skills with senior technology and business leaders, including the ability to influence across organisational levels without direct authority.
  • Bring experience managing project budgets, resource plans, RAID, governance reporting and third-party suppliers.
  • Demonstrate experience with data centre migrations, cloud transformation, application migrations, infrastructure refresh and remediation, and resilience or disaster recovery initiatives.
  • Apply knowledge of DevOps, automation, Infrastructure as Code, ITIL and project management methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and Hybrid approaches.
  • Possess experience within banking, financial services or another highly regulated industry, which is preferred.
  • Hold a degree or equivalent practical experience in Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Hold a relevant project management qualification such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, PMP, Agile Practitioner or MSP.
  • Demonstrate strong planning, decision-making, risk management, collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement capabilities.
