Position Description

At CGI, we design resilient technology foundations that enable complex programmes to deliver securely, efficiently and with confidence. As a Senior Infrastructure Architect, you’ll shape and assure infrastructure solutions for large-scale bids, deals and projects, influencing critical technology decisions from strategy through to delivery. You’ll take ownership of infrastructure architecture, challenge designs and find creative ways to balance business needs, risk, compliance and technical quality. Working across Solution Architecture, engineering, security, data and delivery teams, you’ll be supported by a collaborative community of experts while having the scope to lead partners and suppliers, influence the Technical Design Authority and ensure technology investments deliver sustainable value for our clients.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK ‘Best Employer’ by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you’ll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We’ll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This is a hybrid position.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will take ownership of infrastructure architecture across large-scale bids, deals and projects, bridging the gap between Solution Architects, development teams, business stakeholders and project management. You’ll provide strategic guidance and technical leadership, defining and validating infrastructure solutions that balance requirements, value, risk and long-term architectural direction.

You’ll work closely with the Technical Design Authority (TDA), solution partners and subcontractors to provide assurance that designs are fit for purpose and meet statutory, regulatory, contractual and non-functional requirements. You’ll have the opportunity to challenge established thinking and shape effective solutions, while drawing on expertise across CGI’s wider architecture community to ensure consistent best practice across infrastructure, application, security and data domains.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
