I’m currently working on a number of Infrastructure Automation Architect positions supporting a major global financial institution on a large-scale, board-sponsored vulnerability management programme.
The organisation is looking to significantly improve how patching and vulnerability remediation is managed across its global infrastructure estate, with a particular focus on automation, process transformation and reducing the existing vulnerability backlog.
This is a senior role where you’ll be responsible for assessing the current patch management landscape, defining the future-state operating model and identifying where automation can deliver meaningful improvements.
The Role
You’ll work across infrastructure, security, operations and service management teams to:
- Assess and redesign end-to-end patch management processes
- Define the future-state patch management operating model
- Identify opportunities to automate patching and vulnerability remediation
- Help define the tooling and technology requirements
- Develop implementation and transformation roadmaps
- Work across server, operating system, network, container and database environments
- Drive improvements in operational processes and reduce vulnerability backlogs
- Work closely with technical and senior stakeholders across the organisation
- Present recommendations and transformation plans to both technical and executive audiences

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is an opportunity to work on a high-profile transformation programme within a global investment banking environment, working alongside a major technology services and infrastructure provider.
The programme has significant senior-level visibility, so this would suit someone comfortable operating at both a technical architecture and strategic transformation level.
There are multiple positions available, so if you have a background in infrastructure architecture, automation, patching or vulnerability management and are open to a new contract, I'd be keen to speak.
