Job Title - Infrastructure Automation Engineer
Location - Havant (Mostly remote)
Type - Fixed term contract 6 months to 1 year
Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain standardized Golden Images for Windows and Linux servers.
- Automate image creation using Packer.
- Configure and harden operating systems using Ansible.
- Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Maintain version-controlled infrastructure and automation code using GitHub.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for image creation, validation, testing, and deployment.
- Apply security baselines, operating system patches, and compliance standards to Golden Images.
- Automate image lifecycle management including build, testing, publishing, versioning, and retirement.
- Collaborate with cloud, infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure standardized server deployments.
- Troubleshoot automation failures and optimize provisioning processes.
- Maintain documentation for image standards, build procedures, and operational runbooks.
- Ensure Golden Images meet organizational security, compliance, and performance requirements.
- Continuously improve automation processes and reduce manual operational effort.
