Infrastructure Automation Engineer Lead

Location: London
Pay: £600 per day
Contract: 6 months

Shape the Future of Infrastructure Automation

We are embarking on a major transformation programme to embed automation across our global infrastructure estate, and we're looking for an experienced Infrastructure Automation Engineer Lead (VP) to help drive this strategic initiative.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in accelerating Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation, and platform engineering practices across a complex global environment supporting approximately 3,000 servers and services. You'll work at the intersection of Infrastructure, Cloud, Security, Development, and Architecture teams to build scalable, secure, and reusable automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, consistency, and resilience.

If you're passionate about automation, cloud technologies, DevOps practices, and modern infrastructure engineering, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing

As Infrastructure Automation Engineer Lead, you will:

  • Design, develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform, Ansible, and Python.
  • Drive automation adoption across compute, storage, cloud, and network infrastructure teams.
  • Build reusable automation frameworks, templates, and standards to enable consistent delivery across global platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of internal platform engineering capabilities and self-service infrastructure solutions.
  • Integrate automation into VMware, Azure, and GitHub-based workflows.
  • Partner closely with Infrastructure, Security, Development, SRE, and Architecture teams to identify and eliminate manual processes.
  • Support the delivery of the Infrastructure Automation Programme roadmap and key objectives.
  • Ensure automation solutions are secure, compliant, and aligned with organizational standards.
  • Develop CI/CD integrations, guardrails, and governance controls for infrastructure automation.
  • Act as a technical leader and trusted advisor across infrastructure transformation initiatives.
  • Participate in out-of-hours support and major incident escalation when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
