Role

This is a great role for an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to be responsible for designing, implementing, and improving Atrium’s cloud infrastructure, platform services, and automation capabilities.

Description

Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering

  • Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and cost-effective Microsoft Azure infrastructure.
  • Build and manage repeatable environments using Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates.
  • Support platform engineering practices that improve productivity for Development, Data, and Infrastructure teams.

Development Team Support

  • Provide cloud-native infrastructure support for application hosting, APIs, containerized workloads, and supporting services.
  • Enable CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, environment provisioning, and release automation using Azure DevOps and related tooling.
  • Advise on cloud architecture, performance, reliability, and operational best practice.

Data Platform Support

  • Partner with Data teams to support cloud-based ingestion, storage, transformation, analytics, and reporting platforms.
  • Optimize infrastructure for BI, analytics, and data engineering workloads, ensuring security, governance, backup, and recovery controls are in place.

Automation & Operational Excellence

  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Python, Azure Automation, and related technologies to reduce manual operational tasks.
  • Implement monitoring, alerting, logging, and observability to improve reliability and support incident, problem, and change processes.

Security & Governance

  • Embed security-by-design across cloud infrastructure and support compliance with company policies, cyber standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Work with Cyber Security teams to strengthen cloud posture, remediate vulnerabilities, and support disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational resilience activities.

Collaboration & Innovation

  • Act as a trusted technical partner across Infrastructure, Development, and Data teams, contributing to cloud roadmaps and transformation initiatives.
  • Promote engineering best practice, documentation standards, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Skills required

Essential

  • Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including cloud networking, security, identity, and access management.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform, Bicep, ARM templates, or equivalent.
  • Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline implementation and support experience.
  • Scripting and automation experience using PowerShell and/or Python.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and related cloud technologies.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, observability, backup, disaster recovery, and operational resilience.
  • Experience supporting SQL platforms, data services, or cloud-based data workloads.
  • Strong documentation, technical design, and secure architecture skills.
  • Experience with management of Azure Fabric and/or Data Bricks.

Desirable

  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Datadog, Microsoft Sentinel, Defender for Cloud, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with data engineering pipelines, analytics platforms, platform engineering, or internal developer platforms.
  • Insurance, financial services, or regulated industry experience, plus relevant Microsoft Azure certifications.
