Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a large international organisation undergoing significant investment in its cloud and infrastructure platforms. We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Cloud Engineer to play a key role in designing, implementing, and optimising enterprise-scale cloud environments that support critical business operations running 24/7.

About the Role

This role offers the chance to work within a complex, multi-site environment, helping to shape cloud strategy, improve security posture, and drive infrastructure automation while collaborating with operations, security, and technical teams across the business. As an Infrastructure Cloud Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and ongoing support of cloud infrastructure, ensuring environments remain secure, scalable, highly available, and cost-effective. You will contribute to cloud transformation initiatives, implement automation, and support business-critical applications and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Designing and supporting Microsoft Azure cloud environments
  • Building highly available, scalable, and secure infrastructure platforms
  • Implementing Infrastructure as Code and automation solutions
  • Managing cloud networking, security, identity, and access management
  • Monitoring system performance, availability, and reliability
  • Supporting disaster recovery, backup, and business continuity planning
  • Driving security improvements and cloud governance initiatives
  • Optimising cloud spend and infrastructure performance
  • Producing technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures
  • Collaborating with infrastructure, operations, and security teams on strategic projects

Required Skills and Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments
  • Knowledge of cloud security and governance best practices
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Good understanding of networking principles including DNS, VPNs, and virtual networking
  • Experience supporting Windows and/or Linux server environments
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
