Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer – Role Overview
General Responsibilities and Technical Ability
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimise infrastructure solutions that support game development and studio operations.
- Manage and support cloud, server, storage, networking, and endpoint technologies across the business.
- Own and deliver infrastructure projects from planning through implementation and ongoing support.
- Lead the investigation and resolution of complex infrastructure, network, and systems issues.
- Ensure systems are secure, available, and performing effectively through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
- Develop and maintain automation, scripting, and tooling solutions that improve efficiency and reliability.
- Support business continuity, disaster recovery, backup, and resilience initiatives.
- Work closely with development teams to ensure infrastructure supports game development workflows and technical requirements.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and infrastructure standards.

Organisational Skills
- Independently manage multiple priorities and technical projects.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure improvements with minimal disruption to studio operations.
- Identify risks, dependencies, and technical challenges early and develop practical solutions.
- Support capacity planning and future infrastructure requirements.
- Assist with the development and enforcement of technical standards and security policies.
- Contribute to project planning, roadmaps, and technology strategy discussions.
- Balance operational support responsibilities with longer-term strategic improvements.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions align with business, project, and studio objectives.
- Support the continuous improvement of infrastructure processes, tools, and services.

Leadership and People Skills
- Provide technical guidance and support to Infrastructure Engineers and Service Desk teams.
- Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge across the business.
- Act as an escalation point for complex infrastructure issues.
- Build strong relationships with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences.
- Support technical interviews, recruitment activities, onboarding, and team development initiatives.
- Lead by example through professionalism, collaboration, accountability, and ownership.
- Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Work collaboratively with teams across the studio to deliver exceptional service and support.
