About the Role

Build, secure and shape the infrastructure that keeps our business moving.

At Ground Control, technology plays a critical role in how we operate, innovate and deliver exceptional service for our customers. As our Infrastructure Engineer, you'll be at the centre of that success, ensuring our on-premise and cloud environments remain secure, reliable and ready for the future.

We're looking for a hands-on infrastructure professional who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, improving systems and delivering robust IT services. You'll play a key role in maintaining our Windows, Azure and virtualisation environments while supporting strategic projects that help drive business growth and innovation.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll take ownership of our core infrastructure and help ensure the stability, security and performance of critical business systems.

  • Design, build and manage our Windows server, Hyper-V and Azure environments, ensuring infrastructure remains resilient, secure and aligned to business needs.
  • Support the ongoing development of our cloud platforms, helping to drive the gradual migration of services and workloads into Azure.
  • Monitor and maintain infrastructure performance and availability, proactively identifying improvements and resolving issues before they impact users.
  • Manage physical and virtual infrastructure, including servers, storage platforms, SAN and NAS technologies.
  • Implement security best practices and compliance controls, helping protect business-critical data and systems.
  • Lead infrastructure projects from design through to implementation, taking ownership of delivery and long-term support.
  • Act as an escalation point for the Service Desk team, providing technical expertise and guidance on complex incidents.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, ensuring systems, processes and changes are fully recorded and audit-ready.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements, leveraging modern technologies and AI where appropriate.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support rota, helping maintain service continuity across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
