About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Infrastructure Engineer to design, build and maintain secure infrastructure across AWS Cloud and on-premise environments, supporting complex Defence and Government projects.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys building, fixing and improving infrastructure and taking ownership from initial design and deployment through to operational support, troubleshooting and optimisation.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll work across cloud, on-premise and hybrid environments, with responsibilities including:
- Designing, deploying and maintaining AWS infrastructure, including EC2, VPCs, IAM, storage and networking
- Building and managing Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform
- Automating configuration and deployment using Ansible
- Managing AWS and hybrid environments using AWS Systems Manager
- Building and maintaining virtualised development and test environments
- Supporting core infrastructure services including DNS, DHCP, LDAP, PKI/CA and centralised logging
- Configuring network infrastructure, including Cisco switching, VLANs and network segmentation
- Monitoring infrastructure, troubleshooting technical issues and managing incidents
- Managing patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation and infrastructure lifecycle activities
- Working closely with customer, security and technical teams to deliver secure and resilient solutions
- Identifying opportunities to improve automation, security, reliability and efficiency

What we’re looking for
You’ll have strong practical infrastructure experience, ideally across:
- AWS
- Terraform
- Ansible
- Linux/Windows
- Virtualisation
- Networking
- Git/GitLab
- Infrastructure Monitoring
- Security Hardening
Experience with Proxmox, TrueNAS, Wazuh, Cisco networking, AWS Systems Manager, GitLab CI/CD, PowerShell, Python or Bash would also be beneficial.
More importantly, we’re looking for someone who is hands-on, technically curious and comfortable taking ownership of problems through to resolution.
