Infrastructure Engineer Inside IR35
On behalf of Companies House, we are looking for a Infrastructure Engineer Inside IR35 for a 6 months contract based remotely.
SC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be willing & eligible to undergo checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active SC clearance.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain secure AWS cloud infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles.
- Implement and enforce security best practices across cloud platforms, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical services.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash to improve operational efficiency and strengthen security controls.
- Build and support CI/CD pipelines, embedding security into the software delivery lifecycle and automating deployment processes.
- Deploy, manage, and secure containerised workloads using Docker, ensuring adherence to security and compliance standards.
- Monitor infrastructure and cloud environments, proactively identifying and remediating vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and security risks.
- Manage and improve Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, ensuring least-privilege access across environments.
- Collaborate with development, platform, and security teams to design and implement secure-by-default solutions.
- Support incident response activities, troubleshooting security and infrastructure issues and driving root cause analysis.
- Champion continuous improvement through automation, infrastructure standardisation, and cloud security best practices.

Required Skills & Experience
- Strong experience with AWS Cloud services and cloud security.
- Proven expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash.
- Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container security.
- Strong understanding of security principles, infrastructure hardening, vulnerability management, and IAM.
- Experience administering and securing Linux environments.

Any rates of payment quoted will reflect the gross rate per day for the assignment and will be subject to appropriate taxes and statutory costs.
