Infrastructure Engineer
Permanent | Hybrid (Minimum 2 days onsite - Nottingham) | Infrastructure & Cloud | AWS

The Role
We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Specialist to join an established IT team supporting a broad hybrid infrastructure estate across both on-premise and cloud environments. This is a hands-on technical role where you'll play a key part in maintaining, supporting and enhancing core infrastructure services while contributing to a range of operational and project-based activities.
Working alongside an experienced team, you'll ensure that all work is fully documented, knowledge is shared effectively and solutions are delivered to a high standard. You'll be comfortable taking ownership of technical challenges, learning new technologies where required and communicating confidently with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Support, administer and maintain Windows Server, Linux/Unix and AWS infrastructure.
- Support and maintain networking technologies across both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Deliver infrastructure improvements, upgrades, migrations and project work.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure issues across multiple technology platforms.
- Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation using Confluence or similar documentation repositories.
- Ensure all work is fully documented and knowledge is transferred to existing team members where appropriate.
- Work within IT Service Management processes using Jira, ServiceNow or similar tools.
- Collaborate closely with infrastructure engineers and wider business stakeholders.
- Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical teams and non-technical users.
- Continually learn and adapt to new technologies and unfamiliar use cases as required.

Skills & Experience
- Strong commercial experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Hands-on experience with AWS cloud technologies.
- Strong administration experience with Windows Server.
- Commercial experience supporting Linux/Unix environments.
- Good networking knowledge across both on-premise and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience using documentation repositories such as Confluence.
- Experience working with IT Service Management tools such as Jira or ServiceNow.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing effectively within a collaborative technical team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Comfortable working across a varied technology estate.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with infrastructure automation.
- Experience delivering infrastructure projects and migrations.
- Exposure to VMware or virtualisation technologies.
- Knowledge of Active Directory and Microsoft infrastructure technologies.
- AWS certification or equivalent cloud certifications.
- Experience working within hybrid cloud environments.
- Experience working within an ITIL or structured service management environment.
