Requirements of the role
We’re looking for an Infrastructure Engineer to support and maintain Ofgem’s cloud and on-premises infrastructure services. This is an exciting opportunity to work across a diverse technology landscape, combining traditional infrastructure with modern cloud platforms and automation technologies.
In this role, you’ll help ensure the reliable operation of our Microsoft Azure-focused environment, supporting virtualised services, infrastructure deployments, monitoring activities, patching programmes, and incident resolution. You’ll work closely with senior engineers, architects, suppliers and business stakeholders to maintain secure, resilient and high-performing services.

You’ll contribute to both business-as-usual operations and project delivery, supporting infrastructure improvements and the adoption of modern technologies such as Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform. From server provisioning and system maintenance to monitoring, troubleshooting and disaster recovery activities, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our services remain robust, compliant and responsive to business needs.
