Fixed Term Contract - 12 Months

The Infrastructure Engineer will be responsible for analyzing reported vulnerabilities, designing and implementing remediation solutions, validating fixes, and supporting deployment activities across application and data platforms. The role requires strong expertise in Hadoop ecosystem technologies, Linux administration, security frameworks, and operational support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze reported security vulnerabilities and perform root cause analysis.
  • Design, engineer, and implement remediation solutions for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Validate remediation activities through testing and security verification processes.
  • Support deployment, configuration, and operational activities across application platforms.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to ensure timely vulnerability resolution.
  • Monitor platform health, performance, and security compliance.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, remediation procedures, and best practices.
  • Troubleshoot platform issues and provide production support when required.

Required Technical Skills

Hadoop Ecosystem

  • Strong understanding of YARN, HDFS, Ranger, and Knox architecture and administration.
  • Experience with security configuration and access management within Hadoop environments.

Operating Systems & Networking

  • Proficiency in Linux (RHEL/CentOS) administration.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, and Kerberos authentication.
  • Experience with system hardening and security best practices.

Monitoring & Operations

  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools such as:
    • Cloudera Manager
    • Prometheus
    • Grafana
  • Experience in performance monitoring, troubleshooting, and capacity management.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in enterprise-scale distributed data platforms.
  • Knowledge of vulnerability management tools and security frameworks.
  • Familiarity with automation and scripting for operational tasks.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
