3rd Line Infrastructure Remediation Engineer
Location: Luton
Duration: 6 month initial contract
Start: Immediately, Interviews available this week
Rate: Quotes, Inside IR35
We are currently recruiting on behalf of one of our customers who are looking for a 3rd Line Infrastructure Rendition Engineer to work on an initial 6 month contract. Provide hands-on technical delivery across infrastructure, application patching, vulnerability remediation, network controls, monitoring readiness, and operational security improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a 3rd line technical resolver for infrastructure, network, endpoint, and application remediation.
- Investigate and remediate security findings across Windows Server, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, endpoints, network devices, and supplier-managed platforms.
- Translate vulnerability, audit, and assessment findings into practical remediation plans with owners, dates, impact, risk, and evidence.
- Support production changes, rollback planning, testing, and validation for infrastructure and security remediation activity.
- Produce clear technical documentation, evidence packs, remediation notes, and operational handover material.
- Support patching and remediation across business applications, servers, endpoints, and site-based operational technology.
- Support Cisco switching, VLAN, port security, 802.1X, NAC, MAB, and Cisco ISE readiness or remediation activity.
- Identify unmanaged, unknown, or weakly controlled devices connected to the network and support practical remediation.

Essential Skills
- Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
- Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Intune, and endpoint management.
- Microsoft Defender, vulnerability management tooling, Tenable, Nessus, or similar platforms.
- Server, endpoint, and application patching in production environments.
- Cisco switching, VLANs, port security, NAC, 802.1X, MAB, and Cisco ISE awareness.
- Infrastructure monitoring, alert routing, operational escalation, and supplier-managed service oversight.
- ITSM, CMDB, asset discovery, service mapping, and technical documentation.
- Change control, risk assessment, remediation planning, and evidence capture.
- Strong understanding of defensive infrastructure security and practical remediation.
- Ability to prioritize vulnerabilities based on exploitability, exposure, business criticality, and operational impact.
- Awareness of CIS Controls, NIST principles, and PCI-relevant infrastructure controls.
