Are you looking for an opportunity to work on secure, business-critical messaging platforms that support some of the UK's most important national security programmes?

As an Infrastructure Engineer – Messaging Solutions, you'll join a supportive and experienced team delivering secure messaging and infrastructure services within Aerospace, Defence and Security.

You'll contribute across the full project lifecycle, from design and development through to testing, implementation and early-life support.

Location: On-site, Gloucestershire.

Security Clearance Level: Deep Vetting (DV) Cleared eligible.

Please note that this role includes participation in an on-call rota, currently one week in every four.

What you'll be doing:

  • Producing detailed software and infrastructure designs, including performance specifications and physical designs.
  • Designing, building and unit testing messaging components and supporting link testing activities.
  • Supporting implementation activities and system installations.
  • Creating user documentation, developing operational procedures and supporting users during early live running.
  • Contributing to project delivery through risk management, change control, configuration management and release management activities.

  • Working experience in managing and maintaining Microsoft Messaging toolsets (Exchange/Skype/SharePoint)
  • Good working knowledge of engineering tools, techniques and methods within your specialist area.
  • Understanding of technology, infrastructure and environmental considerations that impact Messaging solutions.
  • Experience producing designs, building software components and supporting testing activities.
  • Knowledge of project lifecycle activities, risk analysis, risk mitigation and configuration management disciplines.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows administration, including users, servers and patching, together with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

It would be great if you had:

  • Experience of Military Messaging Technologies.
  • Understanding of Microsoft 365.
  • Good understanding of Microsoft PowerShell.
  • Experience sharing technical knowledge and supporting a collaborative team environment.

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent.

Salary: Up to £60,000 dependent on experience.
