About Lead Forensics

We are looking for an accomplished Infrastructure Engineer to maintain, enhance, and automate our hybrid infrastructure supporting internal operations. This is a hands-on role requiring a wide range of expertise across cloud platforms, networking, operating systems, and security, with a strong emphasis on continuous improvement and automation.
Location: Fully remote, with the requirement to be within reasonable travel distance to Portsmouth for occasional visits to our physical infrastructure and data centres.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage hybrid infrastructure across both cloud and on-premises environments.
- Act as the technical escalation point for the IT Support team, resolving complex infrastructure issues.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve the availability, performance, and security of infrastructure services.
- Ensure comprehensive and up-to-date technical documentation and operational procedures.

About You
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in infrastructure engineering supporting Microsoft technologies.
- Advanced Microsoft 365 administration skills, including Intune and Entra ID.
- Experience working in hybrid cloud environments, ideally with Azure.
- Proficient understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, subnetting, and identity lifecycle management.
- Deep technical expertise in one or more of the following:
- Windows Server and IIS
- Networking (switching, routing, firewalls, load balancing, WAN)
- x86 server hardware
- Infrastructure automation tools such as Terraform or PowerShell
- At least 2 years’ experience as a technical escalation point for 1st/2nd line IT support teams.
- Experience with Azure, Cloudflare, Mimecast, or Zscaler is an advantage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven ability to deliver projects to agreed timescales and quality standards.
- Familiarity with ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, or similar security frameworks.
- Driving license and access to a vehicle – travel to south of England data centre locations is required.
