About the Role

About Us

We are a growing UK-based retail business with a large multi-site estate spanning stores, Head Office and operational locations.

As the business continues to expand, we are strengthening our technology function and are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to help maintain reliable IT services across the organisation while supporting the delivery of new locations and infrastructure projects.

This is an opportunity to join an established IT team where you will have genuine ownership of infrastructure operations and play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the business.

Job Description

We are looking for a hands-on Infrastructure Engineer to support the day-to-day operation of our IT infrastructure across a multi-site retail environment.

You will work across networking, Microsoft technologies, virtualisation, POS and wider infrastructure, while acting as a key point of escalation for more complex technical issues.

A significant part of the role will involve supporting new store openings, refurbishments and infrastructure rollouts, working closely with internal teams, stores and third-party suppliers to ensure technology is ready for operational launch.

This is not a management position. We are looking for someone who enjoys getting into the detail, solving problems and taking ownership from diagnosis through to resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support IT infrastructure across stores, Head Office and wider operational locations.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, networking, connectivity, server and endpoint issues.
  • Support retail technology including POS/EPOS, tills, payment devices and store systems.
  • Assist with the technical delivery and readiness of new store openings, refurbishments and relocations.
  • Work with networking technologies including firewalls, switching, Wi-Fi, VPN and site connectivity.
  • Support Microsoft environments including Microsoft 365, Active Directory/Entra ID and Windows Server.
  • Provide support across virtualised environments including VMware and/or Hyper-V.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and recurring infrastructure problems.
  • Coordinate with third-party suppliers, vendors, ISPs and field engineers where required.
  • Contribute to infrastructure improvements, technical documentation and operational processes.
  • Participate in a light out-of-hours/on-call rota for critical infrastructure incidents.
  • Travel occasionally to stores when required, particularly around new openings and infrastructure projects.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
