About the Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining the infrastructure that powers our products, working closely with developers and stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure delivery pipelines and environments.
This is a hands-on role. You should be comfortable owning infrastructure projects end-to-end, from design through implementation and ongoing maintenance.
Please note: this role requires candidates to be currently based in the United Kingdom — applications from outside the UK will not be considered.
Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Cloud
- Provision and manage infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code best practices
- Maintain and optimize VMs across development, staging, and production
- Monitor system health and availability; configure alerting and incident response workflows
- Implement auto-scaling, load balancing, and disaster recovery strategies
- Manage & maintain and secure our servers
- Manage & maintain internal apps & deployments
CI/CD & Automation
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins
- Automate deployment workflows to reduce manual work and improve release velocity
- Ensure deployments are reliable, reversible, and observable

Containers & Orchestration
- Write and optimize Dockerfiles; manage multi-stage builds and image standards
- Implement RBAC, network policies, resource quotas, and namespace isolation
Networking
- Configure and manage VPCs, subnets, security groups, DNS, and load balancers
- Apply network security best practices including firewall rules and zero-trust principles
- Troubleshoot connectivity, latency, and routing issues across environments
Databases
- Administer and tune PostgreSQL databases in production environments
- Manage automated backups, replication, and failover strategies
- Collaborate with developers on query performance, indexing, and schema migrations
Version Control & Collaboration
- Maintain Git repositories, branching strategies, and code review workflows
- Document infrastructure decisions, runbooks, and operational procedures
- Participate in incident response and post-incident reviews
Requirements
Candidates must have solid, practical experience with the following:
- Docker — multi-stage builds, Compose, image management
- Deploying & managing VMs across multiple cloud vendors, maintaining reproducible builds
- GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins — CI/CD pipelines, secrets management
- PostgreSQL — administration, backup/recovery, replication, query tuning
- Git — branching strategies, merging, code review workflows
- Networking — TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/S, VPC, load balancers, firewalls
- Linux — systems administration, Bash scripting
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Production experience deploying and managing VMs
- Strong proficiency with AWS or GCP, or Azure
- Solid understanding of Docker and container best practices
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL administration
- Strong networking fundamentals
- Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows
