Sopra Steria’s Aerospace Defence and Security sector are on the lookout for an Infrastructure Engineer with a specialism in Virtualisation for a client working in the defence sector. This is very much a development opportunity offering the successful candidate to get involved and become a technical authority in virtualisation tech such as VMWare. This role would be based on site in the office in Farnborough.
Due to the nature of the projects we are working on, we are only able to progress with candidates eligible for DV clearance.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintenance of live virtualisation platform
- Management of several domains in a multi-tenancy cloud environment
- Facilitating the patching, configuration and deployment of predominantly VMWare Cloud Foundation environments
- Some light data centre management duties

What you’ll bring:
- Background in Infrastructure or Support with experience in or an enthusiasm around virtualisation
- Understanding of Server, Storage and Backup
- Experience working with: VMWare Cloud Foundation, SDDC Manager, Aria Suite, Proxmox virtual environments and Dell Avamar/Veeam Backup Solutions
- Good stakeholder management and engagement experience
- A passion for technology and a drive to continue to learn

- Experience working in the defence sector
