🚀 F5 Infrastructure Engineer | Contract
📍 Edinburgh, Leeds or Manchester – Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)
💰 £650–£700 per day | Inside IR35
📅 6-month contract | Potential for extension
I’m currently recruiting for an experienced F5 Infrastructure Engineer to join a major UK banking organisation, working within a specialist F5 Delivery team as part of the Network Security & Traffic Management function.
This is an exciting opportunity to work within a sophisticated enterprise infrastructure environment, supporting the design, development and delivery of critical networking and traffic management technologies across both private and public cloud environments.
🔧 The Role
You’ll work closely with the wider infrastructure and networking teams to:
- Design, configure, test and maintain F5 infrastructure and services
- Work across F5 BIG-IP, including LTM, GTM/DNS, APM and AWAF
- Build and deploy infrastructure across private and public cloud environments
- Develop and support enterprise integrations and applications
- Contribute to CI/CD and automation using technologies such as Jenkins and GitHub
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and networking issues
- Work within Agile delivery environments using tools such as Jira
- Support operational resilience and security across critical infrastructure
- Rapidly develop domain knowledge and apply it within a complex technical environment

💡 Key Skills & Experience
We’re looking for someone with a strong background in infrastructure engineering and experience across:
- F5 BIG-IP – LTM, GTM/DNS, APM, AWAF
- F5 automation / orchestration – AppViewX ADC+, DO and AS3
- Networking technologies, IP routing and firewalls
- Python and enterprise integrations
- Jenkins, GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
- Private & public cloud environments
- Modern cloud architectures including CaaS and IaaS
- Traditional data centre architectures
- Agile methodologies and tooling
- Complex infrastructure troubleshooting and problem solving
- Operational resilience and security

🎯 About You
You’ll be someone who can confidently operate independently while also collaborating effectively within a specialist technical team.
The role requires someone who can quickly assimilate new technical and domain knowledge, apply it to complex infrastructure challenges and contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation's network and traffic management capabilities.
