Infrastructure Finance Senior Associate – 5-7 PQE

The Role

The position sits within the Infrastructure Financing practice, which works closely with the firm’s other core teams in banking, energy transition, transport, digital infrastructure, and private capital markets. The practice focuses on financing the full life cycle of large-scale infrastructure assets, from greenfield development to portfolio and fund financings, acquisition finance, and refinancings. The team is heavily involved in structuring transactions for transport networks, renewable energy and power projects, utilities, and digital connectivity, as well as innovative, sustainability-linked deals.

Typical work includes:

  • Advising on complex project finance and infrastructure lending arrangements
  • Acting on portfolio financings for leading infrastructure fund managers
  • Supporting PPP structures and public-private partnerships for major regulated projects
  • Designing bespoke security packages for multi-source and ECA-backed financings
  • Coordinating on cross-border transactions for sponsors, funds, financial institutions, governments, and sovereign investors
  • Advising on significant energy transition initiatives and ESG-linked financing structures

Clients include major international lenders, institutional investors, funds, multilateral agencies, and corporates undertaking landmark transactions across global markets. The successful candidate will play a key role in drafting, negotiating, and managing the financing documentation and will oversee workstreams that require strategic problem-solving, technical precision, and commercial judgment.

What They’re Looking For

  • England & Wales qualified lawyer with 5-7 years’ PQE in banking or finance
  • Solid experience in infrastructure finance and/or project finance gained at a top-tier or international law firm
  • Technical expertise in structuring and negotiating syndicated loans, project finance facilities, PPP/PFI arrangements, and complex security packages
  • Ability to manage high-value transactions across multiple jurisdictions
  • Excellent drafting skills alongside strong organisational and project management capabilities
  • Commercial acumen and the ability to advise strategically on complex matters
  • Comfortable engaging directly with major clients and building trusted relationships
  • A collaborative and proactive approach with flexibility under pressure
