Role Overview

Robert Walters is working in partnership with a large-scale international retail business. They operate across a platform combining a strong physical network with leading edge digital capabilities to deliver high-value products. Due to continued UK growth, they are keen to appoint an experienced Infrastructure Network Engineer, to be based out of the Milton Keynes offices, paying a salary range of £40,000 to £60,000 plus cash car allowance.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Infrastructure Network Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, support, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the group's core infrastructure. There will be a strong focus on networking technologies, including firewalls, switching, and wireless environments.

Infrastructure Network Engineer: Duties

  • Support, monitor, and maintain network infrastructure across all sites.
  • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Fortinet firewalls.
  • Support switching infrastructure across Ruckus/Brocade, Cisco Meraki, and Juniper.
  • Troubleshoot and optimise wireless networks (Meraki and Juniper Mist).
  • Investigate and resolve network performance issues across LAN/WAN environments.
  • Perform network upgrades, patching, and lifecycle management.
  • Assist with infrastructure design and site deployments.
  • Provide on-site support for installs and troubleshooting when required.
  • Work with third-party vendors to resolve incidents and deliver projects.
  • Maintain documentation including network diagrams and configurations.
  • Ensure infrastructure aligns with security standards and best practices.
  • Support major incident and problem management processes.

Requirements

Infrastructure Network Engineer: Experience

  • Strong experience with Fortinet firewalls.
  • Experience with switch configuration across multiple vendors, both cloud-controlled and CLI.
  • Strong WiFi troubleshooting skills (Meraki, Mist).
  • Good understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, and switching.
  • Knowledge of DHCP, DNS, and VPN technologies.
  • Experience in multi-site environments.
  • Understanding of network security principles.

Job Details

The permanent position for an Infrastructure Network Engineer will pay a salary of £40,000 to £60,000 plus cash car allowance. The role is based out of the Milton Keynes offices.
