Job Role

We're hiring for an IT Infrastructure Operations Engineer to join our IT Services team, based in Hockley, with hybrid working considered.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional to play a key role in maintaining, securing, and improving the technology platforms that support our business and customers.

In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining the operational health, security, resilience, and lifecycle of our infrastructure services. You'll work across server, cloud, virtualisation, identity, storage, backup, networking, and Microsoft technologies, ensuring our environments remain secure, compliant, and highly available. You'll take ownership of infrastructure maintenance, patching, vulnerability remediation, disaster recovery testing, and operational improvement initiatives.

Working closely with Service Desk, Cyber Security, Cloud & Infrastructure teams, suppliers, and customers, you'll play a pivotal role in preventing incidents before they occur, resolving complex technical issues, and delivering infrastructure improvements that have a real impact across the organisation.

We're looking for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent troubleshooting abilities, and a proactive mindset. You'll be confident working independently, managing priorities effectively, and communicating clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and support server, cloud, virtualisation, identity, storage, backup, network, and supporting infrastructure services.
  • Deliver infrastructure patching, maintenance, and upgrade activities across multiple platforms.
  • Identify, investigate, and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and security risks.
  • Manage server lifecycle activities including upgrades, migrations, replacements, and decommissioning.
  • Monitor backup platforms, perform recovery testing, and contribute to disaster recovery exercises.
  • Provide 3rd-line support for complex infrastructure incidents and problem management activities.
  • Deliver operational improvement projects and support infrastructure change activities.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, operational records, and support procedures.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
