Join us as an Infrastructure Operations Engineer Apprentice
Gain hands-on experience in cloud infrastructure services. You’ll work alongside experienced engineers, developing practical skills in infrastructure operations. This is a great opportunity to build a strong technical foundation while gaining real-world experience.
Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands-on experience.
What you'll do at work
- Monitor cloud infrastructure, platforms and applications to help maintain reliable and available services
- Respond to operational alerts, carry out first-line investigation and escalate incidents when needed
- Record, prioritise and update incidents using established service management processes
- Support routine infrastructure operations, maintenance activities, changes and service requests
- Help investigate recurring technical issues and contribute to resolving problems
- Maintain accurate technical documentation, configuration records and asset information
- Work with engineers, users and third-party suppliers to support infrastructure services
- Follow security, compliance, data protection and operational procedures
- Develop your technical skills through practical experience, training and knowledge sharing
- Contribute ideas to improve infrastructure services and operational processes

What you'll learn
Course contents
- Work at any stage of the solution lifecycle.
- Interpret client requirements.
- Prioritise tasks to work within agreed project plans.
- Ensure resources are used efficiently and responsibly.
- Design solutions to meet client and business requirements.
- Identify technical solutions using creative and critical thinking.
- Install hardware or software, either physically or virtually.
- Search and use different types of data or information sources.
- Test and evaluate performance, functionality, and usability of solutions to ensure compliance with customer and project requirements.
- Deploy and implement solutions, supporting change management practices.
- Create and maintain documentation in accordance with best practice and organisational requirements.
- Support multiple contemporary or legacy solutions to required levels of service.
- Apply organisational policies and legislation in relation to security requirements, privacy, and confidentiality.
- Communicate using a variety of tools and approaches, adapting language for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Apply continuous professional development CPD to support their own learning, business needs and technical developments.

Training schedule
IT Solutions Technician Level 3
- Blended training with SoftServe LTD and Learning Provider
- Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm 40 hours a week
- At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training with Learning Provider
Essential qualifications
- GCSE in:
- English language & Literature (grade Grade 5 and above)
- Math (grade Grade 5 and above)
- A Level in:
- English Language & Literature (grade Grade B and above)
- Math (grade Grade B and above)
Desirable qualifications
- BTEC in:
- A Level, BTEC or equivalent qualification in IT (grade Merit or above)
Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience. The apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.

- Applicants must meet the eligibility requirements for an apprenticeship in England. This includes having the right to work in England and the appropriate permission to undertake apprenticeship training in the UK
- Applicants must meet the applicable residency and funding eligibility requirements and must be able to complete the apprenticeship for its full duration
- Applicants must not be undertaking another apprenticeship or other government-funded education or training programme that would make them ineligible for apprenticeship funding
- The successful applicant will be required to provide evidence of their identity, right to work, complete Background Checks and eligibility for apprenticeship funding before starting the programme
