The Presales Infrastructure Architect
The Presales Infrastructure Architect is a senior, customer-facing role in Atos UK&I Infrastructure and Hybrid Cloud Practice. You will design and present end-to-end infrastructure solutions across mainframe, storage, data centre, and virtualisation, using AI-driven operations (AIOps) for intelligent automation and predictive management. Working with Sales, Portfolio, and Delivery teams, you will define transformation solutions that modernise legacy environments, optimise efficiency, and support business and sustainability goals. This role blends deep technical expertise with strategic insight to help clients evolve toward next-generation hybrid and autonomous infrastructures.

Skills We Can’t Do Without:
- Solid experience of at least 7 years in architecting and implementing large-scale enterprise infrastructure and data centre solutions, with hands-on expertise across mainframe environments (z/OS, COBOL, JCL, middleware), enterprise storage platforms (SAN, NAS, object storage), virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM), and data centre modernisation initiatives, including hybrid and cloud-integrated architectures.
- Proven ability to drive highly automated and intelligent infrastructure operations using automation, orchestration, and monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, Ansible, Terraform, and equivalent platforms, alongside AIOps solutions (e.g., Dynatrace, Moogsoft, Splunk, IBM Instana) to improve observability, predictive maintenance, cost optimisation, and energy efficiency.
- Strong expertise in leading technical solution design and presales engagements, effectively communicating complex infrastructure and transformation strategies to senior technical and business stakeholders, and delivering clear, compelling architectures aligned with operational, sustainability, and business objectives.

Educational Background and Qualifications:
- Educational Qualifications: Degree-qualified in a technical, engineering, or computing discipline.
- Professional Certifications: (e.g., TOGAF, ITIL, VMware, IBM Mainframe, or equivalent) are desirable.

Note:
This role is UK-based and offers a remote working opportunity, with occasional UK domestic travel as required. The successful candidate should hold or be capable of obtaining Security Clearance to work with UK public sector organisations.
