A leading institutional investment manager is seeking an ambitious and commercially minded Associate to join its Direct Equity team, investing across infrastructure and sustainable growth opportunities in the UK, Europe and North America.
The team manages billions of investment across infrastructure and sustainable growth, spanning core, value-add, renewables and energy transition investments. With further billions of capital recently allocated for deployment, the platform is entering an active investment period and expects to complete a significant number of new investments over the next 3–4 years.
The successful candidate will join a highly experienced investment team and will gain exposure across the full investment lifecycle, including strategy, origination, transaction execution, portfolio management and divestments.
This is an opportunity to join a well-capitalised institutional investor with a long-term investment horizon and a genuinely global infrastructure mandate. The role will offer significant exposure to live transactions, senior investment professionals and portfolio companies, alongside the opportunity to develop within a growing direct investment platform.
Role Profile
- Support the origination, evaluation and execution of new infrastructure and sustainable growth investments across the UK, Europe and North America.
- Build and review detailed financial models, including valuation, returns analysis, sensitivities and investment cases.
- Undertake detailed commercial, financial and industry analysis to assess prospective investment opportunities.
- Support transaction execution across financial, commercial, legal, tax and operational workstreams.
- Prepare investment papers and materials for internal investment committees and senior stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and thematic analysis to identify attractive investment opportunities and emerging infrastructure trends.
- Work closely with management teams, advisers, lenders, co-investors and other external stakeholders throughout the investment process.
- Support portfolio company management and ongoing monitoring of investments following completion.
- Assist with strategic initiatives, value creation plans, refinancings, acquisitions and eventual divestments.
- Develop relationships with investment banks, advisers, sponsors and other market participants to support the team's origination efforts.
- Contribute to the wider investment strategy across infrastructure, energy transition and sustainable growth.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
