Infrastructure Project Manager
Birmingham | Up to £55,000
Ready to take your project management career up a gear?
If you're an experienced Infrastructure Project Manager looking for more ownership, greater client exposure and the opportunity to make a genuine impact, this could be the move for you.
We're working with a growing, independent construction consultancy that's building something different. Away from the layers and limitations of traditional corporates, the business has created a genuinely collaborative, people-first environment where ambitious professionals are trusted to take ownership and have a clear platform to progress.
With an exciting pipeline of work spanning highways, transport, regeneration, healthcare, education and the public sector, you'll have the chance to work across a diverse range of infrastructure schemes while playing an important role in the continued growth of the Birmingham team.
This is more than simply delivering projects. You'll have the opportunity to build client relationships, influence project strategy and help shape the way the consultancy grows.
The Opportunity
As an Infrastructure Project Manager, you'll take the lead on projects from early feasibility and inception through to completion and handover.
You'll work closely with clients, consultants, contractors and wider stakeholders, providing strong project leadership and ensuring schemes are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading infrastructure projects from feasibility through to completion and handover.
- Taking ownership of programme, cost, quality, risk and overall project performance.
- Acting as a trusted point of contact for clients and building strong, long-term relationships.
- Coordinating multidisciplinary teams, including designers, contractors, cost consultants and other stakeholders.
- Developing and managing project programmes, governance processes and reporting.
- Leading project meetings, workshops and stakeholder engagement sessions.
- Supporting procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor appointments.
- Managing risk, opportunities, change control and project reporting.
- Ensuring projects comply with CDM, health & safety requirements and client governance procedures.
- Supporting and mentoring junior colleagues as the Project Management team continues to grow.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
