Banking Infrastructure Engineer – Oracle Flexcube - London
An experienced, Infrastructure specialist with strong Oracle Flexcube, is required by London-based international bank. This UK-regulated bank, serving corporate, trade finance and retail banking clients, is looking for a hands-on infrastructure specialist to join the existing team and help keep their core banking systems running smoothly. You'll be at the centre of the technology that powers the bank day to day — working across Linux/AIX, Oracle databases and WebLogic middleware to keep everything available, stable and performing as it should.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys solving real production problems and wants deep exposure to enterprise banking technology in a close-knit, high-impact team.

What you'll be doing
- Keeping core banking applications running: overseeing daily and end-of-day processing, chasing down batch failures, reconciliation issues and performance bottlenecks, proactively monitoring system health
- Supporting the wider business through platform upgrades, environment changes and deployments
- Liaising with Oracle and other vendors
- Administering the underlying Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux) and AIX estate — user access, patching, housekeeping, and writing scripts to automate the routine stuff.
- Day-to-day support for the Oracle and SQL Server databases behind Flexcube, ERP, FCCM and the OPICS environments; Monitoring, Backups, Recovery testing, Supporting the WebLogic middleware layer
- Owning incidents and problems end to end
- Disaster recovery exercises, backup verification, audit support and capacity planning.

What we're looking for
- Strong experience supporting Oracle Flexcube, Oracle ERP or a comparable enterprise banking platform.
- Solid hands-on experience administering Linux (RHEL) and/or AIX systems.
- Practical experience with Oracle databases and SQL Server — monitoring, backups, performance tuning and troubleshooting — plus exposure to Oracle WebLogic administration.
- Familiarity with overnight batch cycles and end-of-day banking operations, and a good grasp of IT operational support and production service management.
- Comfortable with shell scripting (Bash/Korn) and SQL/PL-SQL.
