Infrastructure Engineers – Cloud & VMware
Manchester | £50,000–£60,000 | Permanent
I’m working on two infrastructure engineering opportunities in Manchester: one focused on VMware and private cloud, the other with more emphasis on Azure and hybrid infrastructure.
Both would suit engineers who enjoy getting into complex issues, improving the platforms behind the service, and taking ownership beyond the initial fix.
Responsibilities
Depending on your strengths, the work could include:
- Supporting and improving VMware, Azure and Windows Server environments.
- Investigating third-line incidents across virtualization, storage, networking, and cloud infrastructure.
- Managing patching, firmware upgrades, monitoring, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Delivering platform changes, migrations, and infrastructure projects.
- Working with other engineers and vendors to resolve recurring problems and improve reliability.
- Documenting solutions and sharing knowledge with the wider team.

For the VMware-focused role, experience with ESXi/vCenter, SAN storage, and hosted or multi-tenant platforms would be particularly useful. For the cloud-focused role, I’d be keen to speak with engineers who have hands-on Azure infrastructure experience across VMs, networking, security, monitoring, or AVD.

Salary: £50,000–£60,000, depending on the role and experience. Office attendance differs between the two positions, so I can talk you through that upfront.
