Description
We are seeking an experienced IT Infrastructure Analyst to support a major transformation programme, consolidating multiple accountancy firms into a centralised Microsoft Azure environment.
This role will play a key part in migrating diverse legacy infrastructures (including on-premises and existing cloud estates) into a unified, secure, and scalable Azure platform. The contractor will work closely with internal IT teams, third-party vendors, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth and efficient transitions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Nutanix, Windows Server, Citrix, and wider infrastructure, ensuring performance, capacity, availability, and security.
- Administer Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Active Directory, and key business applications.
- Manage and troubleshoot network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, and routing.
- Plan and deliver infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and modernisation, including migration of servers, virtual machines, storage, file services, and applications to Azure.
- Support tenant consolidation, identity integration, and hybrid/cloud transformation across multiple entities.
- Assess and document existing on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments, developing appropriate migration strategies.
- Provide Level 3 technical support, troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues, and maintain security, compliance, and governance standards.
- Work with project stakeholders to manage migration projects, risks, and documentation, providing technical handover and knowledge transfer to internal teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, including Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, Azure Migrate, and Entra ID.
- Proven experience delivering infrastructure migration and transformation projects, including migrations from VMware/Hyper-V and existing cloud platforms such as Azure and AWS.
- Strong understanding of networking, VPNs, firewalls, routing, cloud security, backup, and disaster recovery.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 tenant migrations, identity management, and hybrid environments.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues.
- Good understanding of security, resilience, availability, and governance within enterprise IT environments.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within professional services or accountancy firms
- Familiarity with accountancy platforms such as: CCH, IRIS, Caseware, Sage 50 accountancy and payroll
- Linux experience
- Veeam
- Powershell (including Powershell for Exchange)
- Experience working in professional services, financial services, or accountancy firms
