Position Description

Join CGI's Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit and play a critical role in delivering secure, resilient infrastructure solutions that support nationally significant programmes. As a Manual Infrastructure Tester, you will work within high-performing Agile delivery teams, collaborating with developers, infrastructure engineers, and project managers to ensure the successful testing and integration of complex systems across secure environments. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high-impact projects while working with modern infrastructure technologies across Windows and Linux platforms. At CGI, you'll be empowered to take ownership, contribute innovative ideas, and grow your expertise within a collaborative and supportive team environment.

CGI was recognised in the Sunday Times Best Places to Work List 2025 and has been named a UK 'Best Employer' by the Financial Times. We offer a competitive salary, excellent pension, private healthcare, plus a share scheme (3.5% + 3.5% matching) which makes you a CGI Partner not just an employee. We are committed to inclusivity, building a genuinely diverse community of tech talent and inspiring everyone to pursue careers in our sector, including our Armed Forces, and are proud to hold a Gold Award in recognition of our support of the Armed Forces Corporate Covenant. Join us and you'll be part of an open, friendly community of experts. We'll train and support you in taking your career wherever you want it to go.

Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will work full time on site near Basingstoke.

Your future duties and responsibilities

In this role, you will support the testing, integration, and validation of secure infrastructure solutions across complex environments. Working closely with multi-disciplined engineering teams, you will execute manual tests, investigate failures, raise and manage defects, and contribute to the successful deployment of infrastructure components. You will play an important role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of systems supporting critical programmes.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
