The Opportunity
We are partnering with an institutional financial services leader in London to drive platform engineering across their enterprise compute estate. The group is advancing multi-platform modernisations spanning virtualised estates, cloud integration, and identity management. Because this squad safeguards critical national financial infrastructure, active Security Clearance (SC) is required. You will eliminate infrastructure vulnerabilities, automate server delivery pipelines, and ensure total operational resilience.
Role Overview
As an Infrastructure Windows Engineer, you will engineer, automate, and harden enterprise Windows Server environments within agile squads. Your focus is elevating OS lifecycle management, scaling virtualisation capability, and resolving complex platform incidents.

- Platform Engineering: Provision, configure, and decommission physical and virtual Windows Server fleets at scale
- Core Services: Maintain Active Directory, GPOs, DNS, and DHCP to uphold institutional security standards
- Security & Hardening: Drive automated system patching, vulnerability remediation, and OS upgrades
- Orchestration: Build PowerShell scripts to automate deployment, maintenance, and operational checks
Required Technical Expertise
- Active Security Clearance (SC): Essential requirement due to strict client security protocols
- Windows Server Mastery: Senior-level administration across Windows Server (2016 through 2022+)
- Virtualization: Direct administrative experience managing VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V platforms
- Automation & Core Ops: Proven PowerShell scripting ability alongside Active Directory and core network service management
- Enterprise Scale: Background maintaining enterprise-scale infrastructure within structured ITIL environments

Desirable Edge Skills
- Exposure to Azure hybrid infrastructure, SCCM/MECM, Intune, or IaC tooling (Terraform/Ansible)
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Azure Administrator, or VMware VCP)
