Injection Moulding Setter
Location: Corby
Salary: £40,000 per annum
Hours: Monday–Friday, rotating weekly shifts
Week 1: 6:00am–2:00pm
Week 2: 2:00pm–10:00pm

Are you an experienced Plastic Injection Moulding Setter looking for your next challenge? Aqumen Recruitment is working on behalf of an established manufacturing client as they build the team for their production plant. This is an excellent opportunity to join the Corby operation at an exciting stage of its development and play an important role in establishing a high-performing production environment.
We're looking for an experienced Injection Moulding Setter with strong injection moulding knowledge who can confidently carry out mould changes, machine set-ups and processing while maintaining excellent standards of quality, safety and efficiency.
The facility will initially operate around 20 injection moulding machines ranging from 150 to 450 tonnes, providing a busy, high-volume manufacturing environment where your technical knowledge and problem-solving ability will make a real difference.
What you'll be doing
Working as part of the production team, you'll take responsibility for ensuring injection moulding machines, auxiliary equipment and associated automated systems are correctly set and operating within the required parameters.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Setting up, changing and starting injection moulding machines safely and efficiently.
- Processing machines to achieve consistent, high-quality production.
- Checking finished products using calipers, optical equipment and other testing methods.
- Monitoring production and troubleshooting processing or equipment issues.
- Identifying the root causes of problems and helping prevent repeat quality issues.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance activities and documenting process changes.
- Working to minimise material scrap, helping reduce both environmental impact and production costs.
- Providing practical feedback on mould design and working alongside Tool & Die Makers to optimise moulds for quality and cycle time.
- Working closely with Mechanical Engineers, Electricians and other colleagues to minimise equipment downtime.
- Following all relevant risk assessments and Environment, Health & Safety procedures.

Training will be provided to help you become fully familiar with the site's equipment, processes and operating standards.
What we're looking for
You'll ideally have hands-on plastic injection moulding experience, covering the process from mould setting through to successful production.
Essential qualification: You must hold an IMT Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Injection Moulding, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
You should also bring:
- Strong knowledge of injection moulding machines, tooling and associated equipment.
- Experience within a high-volume injection moulding environment.
- Experience working safely with overhead cranes and injection moulding tools.
- Good processing and troubleshooting skills.
- The confidence to analyse problems and make sound decisions.
- A proactive, solution-focused approach to your work.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider technical team.
- A strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.

The working environment
You'll be based in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment, although temperatures can occasionally vary between hot and cold. The production environment includes continuous machinery noise and occasional non-toxic fumes.
This is a hands-on position within a fast-paced manufacturing operation, so we're looking for someone who enjoys solving technical problems, keeping production moving and working as part of a skilled team.
