The Purpose:
Our brewery in Kentish Town is our home of innovation, and the purpose of this role is to be part of a world-class brewing team making great beer. The position is hands-on, where you will not only be making beer but helping create new recipes and trialing exciting new products and techniques. You’re reporting to Head Brewer in this position.

You will be part of a multi-skilled team, responsible for undertaking various brewing, packaging and innovation operations including but not limited to: technical compliance management, stock management, safety reporting (near misses), housekeeping, beer production and packaging. The innovation brewer is responsible for all brewing and packaging processes from the intake of raw materials to the production of finished goods and movement to consumer/Enfield. They will also support commercial with new liquid development, some PR commercial activities to support volume growth of the brand and supporting Enfield when required.

Key Tasks: Accountabilities
- The safety of our teams is our top priority through teamwork and collaboration ensuring to raise near misses on-time with 100% closure rate. Working with Safety on safety initiatives.
- Making great beer requires the highest quality standards always by following our strict hygiene standards, reporting anything out of specification or process and being an owner of all areas of your role ensuring to follow our operational standards and maintaining high attention to detail.
- Basic Lab operations; including but not limited to yeast counts, diacetyl testing, PH, Gravity, CC, viability, CO2, DO, LA test
- Meeting plan attainment on time in full (OTIF) making sure to report any deviations
- Performing all necessary brewery operations – including brewhouse, cellar management and bright beer filtration, packaging, Tankering, FLT work and support stock control
- Respond to breakdowns, troubleshoots and problem solve to bring the plant back up to working standard.
- Lead on precision brewing ensuring our beers are in specification using data from the lab team, adhere to all quality related needs and respond/react to any out of specs
- Support HACCP activities onsite along with SALSA accreditation
- Supporting problem-solving across teams and contributing to our continuous improvement program
- Inventory management of all raw materials, chemicals and goods receipting upon delivery
- Liaise directly with suppliers/OEM’s for the provision of spares/services/materials
- Complete the required CMMS system reporting for all beer processing.
- Management of waste streams created by the brewing processes e.g. spent grain, waste yeast etc.
- Loading and unloading of materials & finished goods in a safe manner using relevant vehicle
- Completing all physical and digital paper trails and movements OTIF with a strict focus on maintaining our high traceability standards. This may include using ERP Systems, Digital Logs, etc.
- Keeping all production areas clean and tidy, in line with our hygiene routine.
- Partaking in all VPO routines, including 5S, creating and updating SOPs, SWIs and OPLs, pillar meetings and PDCA cycles.
- Innovating new liquids that can be the next Camden Hells/Pale/Eazy in line with the Commercial teams
- Present to commercial parties of the story of Camden and how our innovation process works
- Supporting Enfield with production if necessary

Skills, Knowledge and Experience required:
- Someone passionate about the production of high-quality beer with an understanding of quality within process production
- Technical & fault-finding skills to enable you to operate in our fast-moving environment
- Willingness to learn new skills and a “can do” attitude
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written
- Computer literacy with the ability to follow screen instructions
- A strong team player who thrives in an open collaborative environment
- Detail oriented, driving high standards of record keeping.
- You will bring:
- 1-2 years in brewing operations
- Not strictly required but advantageous relevant technical degree (science, engineering, brewing or winemaking)
- Nice to have formal brewing education such as the IBD Diploma in Brewing is desirable
- Knowledge of quality control and assurance processes
- Relevant hands-on plant aptitude – excellent problem-solving skills.
- Desirable experience in laboratory operations
- Passion for the Brewing Industry and knowledge of current beer trends and styles
