Faculty/ Directorate

The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (HLS) at De Montfort University (DMU) is home to a wide range of laboratory based, pharmaceutical, healthcare, and social science courses. The faculty educates and develops professionals who make a significant difference to lives, health, wellbeing, communities and society. The Leicester School of Allied Health Sciences, within the faculty of HLS, offers a number UG and PG provisions including BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science and MSc Advanced Biomedical Science (accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science).

The Role

We are seeking to appoint a self-motivated and team orientated, technically skilled pharmaceutical scientist at research assistant level. In this role, you will lead the establishment of our manufacturing facility, quality management system, documentation and assessments for pharmaceutical manufacturing equipment and contribute to the regulatory work up of our core technology as part of a developing DMU spin out. You will be at the forefront of multidisciplinary scientific innovation, establishing prototyping and manufacturing workflows. Your work will support the developing spin out to broaden market application and establish prototypes for its core technologies. You will report to the CEO and CSO of the spin out, both Associate Professors in the schools of Allied Health and Pharmacy, respectively. You’ll work closely with other group members, our external commercial partners, where required, and UG/PG project students.

Ideal Candidate

You should have a degree and relevant proven experience in pharmaceutical science and manufacturing environments, including time in industry settings. Experience of pharmaceutical manufacturing workflows, product development, quality control and the implementation of related strategies. We are looking for a person with excellent record keeping, attention to detail, and expertise in innovation projects specifically, with UG/PG supervisory experience. You will be an independent worker as well as a team player, with a solutions-orientated mindset, someone who can drive effective outcomes whilst identifying and adapting to challenges in a proactive and rational manner. If you display a commitment to target-driven achievements, whilst operating to challenging time constraints, we’d love to hear from you.
