Role overview
The Innovation Leader will drive the identification, development, implementation, and adoption of innovative technologies and digital solutions across one of ABM’s major accounts across London and the UK. Working closely with operational leaders, clients, technology partners, and corporate support functions, the role will ensure new technologies deliver measurable improvements in operational performance, data gathering, client experience, sustainability, compliance, and commercial value.
The Innovation Lead will act as the bridge between Operations, Technology, Business Intelligence, and Client stakeholders, ensuring innovation moves beyond ideas into scalable operational solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovation Strategy
- Develop and maintain the account Innovation Roadmap aligned to the Client and ABM objectives.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology.
- Research emerging technologies across Facilities Management, AI, automation, IoT, robotics, and digital services.
- Present innovation proposals and business cases to senior leadership and clients.
Technology Deployment
- Lead implementation of new operational technologies.
- Manage pilot programmes from concept through rollout.
- Coordinate technology vendors and third-party partners.
- Ensure successful integration into existing operational processes.
Examples could include:
- AI-enabled inspections
- Smart cleaning
- Robotics
- IoT sensors
- Digital work instructions
- Mobile workforce applications
- Predictive maintenance
- Occupancy analytics
Business Intelligence & Data
- Work with Business Intelligence teams to develop meaningful dashboards.
- Identify operational trends using Power BI and other reporting tools.
- Translate operational data into actionable improvement plans.
- Ensure technology investments deliver measurable ROI.

Operational Excellence
- Support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Standardise digital processes across all locations.
- Improve productivity through automation.
- Reduce manual administration wherever possible.
Change Management
- Lead user adoption programmes.
- Develop communication and training plans.
- Coach operational leaders on new technologies.
- Measure adoption rates and user engagement.
Client Engagement
- Present innovation initiatives during Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Build trusted relationships with ABM and Client stakeholders.
- Identify innovation opportunities directly with the client and the Account Lead.
- Demonstrate business value and return on investment.
Vendor Management
- Evaluate new technology providers.
- Coordinate proof-of-concepts.
- Manage implementation timelines.
- Ensure suppliers meet operational requirements.
Governance
- Ensure technology complies with ABM and client security standards.
- Maintain innovation documentation.
- Track project benefits.
- Develop KPIs for innovation success.
Essential
- Experience leading technology or digital transformation projects.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform and Power BI.
- Experience implementing operational technology.
- Excellent stakeholder management.
- Project management experience.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Analytical mindset with commercial awareness.
- Experience within Facilities Management or Workplace Services.
Desirable
- Knowledge of AI tools and Microsoft Copilot.
- Experience with IoT or Smart Buildings.
- Lean Six Sigma.
- Agile or Scrum methodologies.
- Change Management certification (Prosci or similar).
- Prince2 or PMP.
- Experience working within enterprise environments.
