Digital Innovation Manager

Contract Details

  • Rate: £450-£500 per day
  • IR35 Status: Outside IR35
  • Location: Hybrid working with offices in Central London
  • Duration: Contract until 31 March 2027

Overview

We are supporting a leading NHS organisation in the appointment of an experienced Digital Innovation Manager to join a newly established Digital Innovation Hub.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the delivery of innovative digital projects that have the potential to transform patient care, improve staff experience, and drive operational efficiencies across a large healthcare organisation. The successful candidate will manage innovation initiatives through discovery, proof of concept, pilot deployment, and evaluation, helping shape decisions on future investment and wider adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate digital innovation projects through discovery, proof of concept, pilot, evaluation, and handover stages
  • Develop and maintain project plans, risk registers, issues logs, dependencies, and benefits tracking
  • Engage stakeholders across clinical, operational, digital, corporate, and supplier teams
  • Support governance processes, including business case approvals, steering groups, and assurance activities
  • Coordinate pilot implementation activities, ensuring appropriate clinical safety, information governance, technical, and operational engagement
  • Produce evaluation reports, lessons learned, and recommendations to support future investment decisions
  • Facilitate the transition of successful pilots into wider organisational programmes and operational delivery

Person Specification

Essential

  • Experience delivering digital innovation, digital transformation, or technology-focused projects within complex organisations
  • Strong project or programme management experience across discovery, pilot, and implementation phases
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and suppliers
  • Knowledge of governance, assurance, risk, and benefits management processes
  • Ability to produce high-quality reports, evaluations, and recommendations
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

Desirable

  • Experience working within the NHS, healthcare, or public sector
  • Exposure to AI, digital health, innovation, or emerging technology programmes
  • Understanding of pilot delivery, proof of concept activities, and product evaluation
  • Knowledge of systems such as Cleric, Adastra, or Avaya
