Job Description
Most Own Label jobs are glorified brief-taking. Retailer asks, you deliver, repeat. This one's the opposite.
We're hiring for a big international food business whose brands are almost certainly in your cupboard right now and they do Own Label properly. Not reactive. Proactive. You'd own the product roadmap for existing ranges and actually go to retailers with ideas, rather than waiting for the phone to ring.
It's a 6-month fixed-term contract. Six months to make a real dent in a high-visibility part of the business.
Why should you care?
Because you'd sit right at the heart of it, working with Commercial, Category, the chefs, Procurement, Supply Chain, Ops and Finance to take an idea from "what if" to "on shelf." You'd shape the innovation pipeline, strengthen retailer relationships and get your fingerprints on products real people buy. Genuine commercial impact, not a spreadsheet nobody opens.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
What you'd actually be doing
- Looking after the existing range — redesigns, artwork, EPD, keeping on top of legislative changes so nothing slips.
- Owning the Own Label pipeline across key customer categories.
- Running innovation and renovation projects from first sketch to launch.
- Digging into customer, category and consumer insight to spot the opportunity before anyone else does — then turning it into something you can put in front of a retailer with confidence.
- Finding the smart wins on quality, profitability and efficiency along the way.
Bluntly: taking ideas to customers, not just taking orders from them.
Who you are
- Curious. The sort who can't leave a "why do we do it this way?" alone.
- You build trust fast and can hold a room — internal or external — when you're presenting an idea.
- You're comfortable with a bit of ambiguity and a fast pace.
- You can balance the exciting stuff with the commercial and operational reality.
- You like people and you graft well in a team.
