Software Developer – Innovation (AI/ML, IoT & Digital Twins)
We're looking for an innovative and hands-on Software Developer to join our growing Innovation team. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, IoT, Real-Time Data, and Digital Twin technologies, creating customer-facing solutions that demonstrate tangible business value.
You'll be responsible for designing and delivering Proofs of Concept (POCs) and Proofs of Value (POVs) that showcase how emerging technologies can solve real-world challenges. From ingesting live sensor data and building scalable APIs to integrating AI models and creating immersive 3D/4D Digital Twin experiences, you'll help bring cutting-edge ideas to life.

What You'll Be Doing
Build Customer-Focused Innovation Solutions
- Design and deliver end-to-end POCs and POVs that demonstrate business value and accelerate customer adoption.
- Develop solutions combining IoT, AI/ML, APIs, analytics, and Digital Twin technologies.
- Present working prototypes to both technical and executive stakeholders.
Develop Data Pipelines and Integrations
- Build streaming and batch ETL pipelines using Python and modern data frameworks.
- Integrate data from sensors, databases, cloud platforms, and third-party services.
- Orchestrate data workflows using tools such as Airflow and Prefect.
Create IoT and Real-Time Data Solutions
- Collect, normalize, and process telemetry from connected devices.
- Implement edge-to-cloud data flows using MQTT, HTTP, CoAP, and related technologies.
- Build robust solutions capable of handling real-time and high-volume sensor streams.

Design Modern APIs and Services
- Develop secure, scalable REST and gRPC services using FastAPI, Flask, and Node.js.
- Implement authentication, authorization, observability, testing, and performance monitoring.
- Ensure reliability, maintainability, and best-practice API design.
Deliver Digital Twin Experiences
- Integrate real-time operational data with advanced 3D and 4D visualizations.
- Work with OpenUSD, NVIDIA Omniverse, and Unreal Engine technologies.
- Create interactive digital environments that represent assets and processes over time.
Integrate AI and Machine Learning
- Embed AI/ML capabilities into prototypes and customer solutions.
- Support use cases such as anomaly detection, forecasting, computer vision, and geospatial analytics.
- Work with modern machine learning frameworks including PyTorch and Scikit-learn.
Support DevOps and Delivery Excellence
- Deploy containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and observability tooling.
- Produce high-quality technical documentation and operational runbooks.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of software development experience in complex environments.
- Strong expertise in Python for application development, data processing, and integration.
- Advanced experience with C++ and JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Experience developing and consuming REST and/or gRPC APIs.
- Hands-on experience with IoT technologies, sensor data, and telemetry pipelines.
- Knowledge of time-series databases such as TimescaleDB, InfluxDB, QuestDB, or similar platforms.
- Experience with event-driven and streaming architectures.
- Understanding of Digital Twin, 3D visualization, or simulation technologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to rapidly prototype innovative solutions.

Nice to Have
- Experience with NVIDIA Omniverse, OpenUSD, or Unreal Engine.
- Cloud platform expertise across AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Geospatial technologies including PostGIS, GeoJSON, Cesium, or GIS platforms.
- Experience with Kafka, Kinesis, or Pub/Sub.
- Exposure to edge computing technologies such as NVIDIA Jetson.
- Knowledge of robotics, ROS, industrial protocols, OPC-UA, or Modbus.
- Experience building dashboards and data visualization tools.
- Cloud certifications or advanced technical qualifications.
What Success Looks Like
Within your first six months, you'll:
- Deliver multiple customer-facing innovation projects and prototypes.
- Build solutions that seamlessly connect IoT, AI, APIs, and Digital Twin technologies.
- Enable real-time visualization and analytics from live operational data.
- Contribute to customer engagements that progress from concept to production opportunities.
- Help establish best practices across innovation engineering and solution delivery.
